Management Team

mobi has assembled a world-class executive management team with a deep knowledge of business process optimization, industry requirements, software development processes and operations management. This team understands the changing dynamics of vertical markets and the need for rigorous cost control in everything from software development to operational process design. They recognize the importance of business optimization in making decisions that drive a mission to success.

Benjamin Bromberg, Chief Operating Officer

Mr. Bromberg has responsibility for all mobi operations, including Sales, Finance, Professional Services, Development and IT. Mr. Bromberg has over 15 years of experience in the software and telecommunications industries. He is the founder of BB Advisors, a firm that provides executive financial and operating services to private equity firms and hedge funds. Prior to starting BB Advisors, he was Senior Vice President of Product and Strategy for Talk America, a telecommunications company providing voice and data services. Talk America was purchased for $250 million by Cavalier Telephone. Prior to Talk America, Mr. Bromberg ran the pre-sales and professional services teams for EventMonitor, a software company that provides real-time analytical infrastructure to hedge funds and proprietary trading desks. Prior to EventMonitor, he was an investment banker in the Global Telecommunications group at Salomon Brothers Inc. Mr. Bromberg received an MBA from Harvard Business School and a B.S. in Computer Science from Stanford University.

John F. Pence, Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Pence is a native of Austin, Texas with over 20 years of accounting, finance and transaction experience, serving as a part of management and as an advisor across numerous industries. Prior to joining the executive team at mobi, Mr. Pence served in various senior leadership roles with Freescale Semiconductor, including Chief Financial Officer for EMEA, based in Toulouse, France. During his tenure at Freescale, Mr. Pence helped to successfully separate Motorola’s $6 billion and 25,000 employee Semiconductor Products Division through an IPO. He subsequently contributed to $11 billion of shareholder value creation as a result of the largest technology, private-equity transaction in history with a consortium led by the Blackstone Group. In addition Mr. Pence worked for Baxter Brinkmann International Corporation, as SVP, responsible for leading the finance and accounting organizations of mature diversified consumer products companies. He has worked for Allied Riser Communications, an early stage broadband services provider. While at Allied Riser Communications, he assisted in completing eight separate venture, IPO, debt and convertible financing transactions and four acquisitions as its VP of Corporate Finance. Mr. Pence received a BBA degree with honors in Accounting and Finance from The University of Texas in Austin. He is also a CPA.

Eric Anderson, Vice President of Product Delivery

Mr. Anderson is a 'leader of change' who uses agile best practices to help organizations deliver business value through the creation of working software. Prior to joining the executive team at mobi, he held several senior leadership positions for product, software and services firms over the last 10 years, most recently as a Client Executive/Principal Consultant with ThoughtWorks Inc. Mr. Anderson has a developed expertise in leading organizational transformation with progressive companies - specifically companies who seek to engage IT/IS as a business solution provider by utilizing lean concepts and the frequent delivery of functional software. As VP of Product Delivery at mobi, he is responsible for the product, development and testing teams who support mobi's extensive product line. Mr. Anderson received a BS in Biology/Chemistry from Eastern Illinois University in Charleston, Illinois. He is also an agile-certified Scrum Master.

Greg Gray, Vice President of Sales

Mr. Gray leads mobi's sales organization, directing strategies to bring mobi products successfully to market. Prior to joining mobi, Mr. Gray was a co-founder and Managing Director at Mobyz, a wireless applications company and key strategic partner of Nokia. Prior to Mobyz, Mr. Gray was a Managing Director for SE-Technologies, Inc, where he directed US sales efforts. Mr. Gray also ran sales for the OEM division of Digital Computer Integration and has served as Vice President of Marketing for Global Computing Consultants.

Mark T. Lane, Chief Scientist

Dr. Lane joined mobi shortly after the company’s founding. He designed algorithms that represent the state-of-the-art in forecasting and real-time optimization. He has more than 15 years of experience in numerical and data analysis, optimization and combinatorial techniques, and genetic and evolutionary computations. Prior to joining mobi, Dr. Lane spent 10 years as a member of the Technical Staff at MIT Lincoln Laboratory. He was the Co-Principal Investigator for the Midcourse Space Experiment, the largest SDIO-funded satellite mission. Dr. Lane is the author or co-author of more than 20 refereed journal articles and more than 30 other published papers. He holds a Ph.D. from Vanderbilt University.
